First railfanning trip to IL:
February 4-6, 2005

In Effingham, there's obviously a problem with the CSX track from the temporary speed restriction flags. A CSX trackman inspects the diamond. This is his Hi-Rail.

In Tolono, NS 9270, a D9-40CW, takes an intermodal east. The local heads east at Elizabeth street with another D9-40CW, NS 9028, in the lead. An autorack train heads east with a D9-40C, NS 8830, pulling the entire train.

An extra, mainly autoparts, heads west hammering the NS/CN diamond with NS 6631, an SD60, leading the way. An eastbound roadrailer waits at the diamond signal with NS 9418, a D9-40CW, as the sole power. This CN local heads north to get a cut of cars to take up to Champaign with IC 3110, an SD40-2, heading long-nose forward.
