Railfanning in Chicago: May 25, 2004

Blue Island - this CSX heads from the Indiana Harbor Belt line onto the B&O line. This stays on the B&O line. Note the number of tracks that cross the road (there is also one behind the camera.

Can you spot all 3 train movements? Look at the rainbow consist of engines on this train. The coolest thing I have ever seen - obviously and ex-Chessie GP-38 (most likely WM because of the black paint).

An Iowa Interstate was leading that train off of the Rock Island connection. Now in Griffith, IN, these Elgin, Joliet & Eastern cabooses are on display.

This 'J' train heads towards Joliet just before crossing the Grand Trunk line. Old signal towers.

Now in Hartsdale, IN, this SD40-2 'J' train moves towards Joliet. A dwarf signal. The diamonds in Hartsdale.
