Biographical Information and Personal Interests

Born to William and Shirley Talbot on February 16, 1977, Malcolm Talbot moved all over due to the fact that father was in the navy. He lived in Bloomington, IN for a few years until Kindergarten at which time he moved to Joliet, IL to spend the rest of his time in secondary education. His main activities in high school were J.R.O.T.C. drill team, Tiger News Network, choir, and the spring musicals: "Once on this Island" and "Grand Hotel". Malcolm then moved to Terre Haute, IN -- there to spend the next four years earning his B.S. in Chemical Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. His main activity there was singing in the Rose Chorus his freshman and senior years. After being accepted for graduate school both at UC-Berkley and UI-UC, he chose to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He was involved in the Lutheran campus ministry there - St. Andrew's, as well as attending Wednesday meetings of the Episcopal group at the Canterbury House. Malcolm was also an active member in the Illini Railroad Club which maintains a large layout at the university and makes small railfanning trips around the area -- mostly to Tolono, IL where the Canadian National (former Illinois Central) crosses the Norfolk Southern (former Wabash). He defended his Ph.D. work on September 1, 2004 and deposited his dissertation on September 7, 2004. He has since moved to Duncan, OK where he began his work for Halliburton. Malcolm is joining All Saints' Episcopal Church as there is no ELCA church of any reasonable size in the area. He is also a member of SWORA in continuing his work with model railroading.
