Second Railfanning trip in Texas:
Saginaw, May 1, 2005

Appologies for these first few pictures - I had the ISA setting at an equivalent of 400 instead of 50. But then again, perhaps 200 or 100 would have been the best to show some engine detail while it is still backlit...

UP Duncan Sub - This manifest freight heads north towards the diamond with UP 1940, a GP 60, in the lead. BNSF Wichita Falls Sub - This DPU, BNSF 9854, an SD 70MAC, pushes at the rear of a train full of empty bethgons (E) SLPCAM0 66A. BNSF Fort Worth Sub - The Heartland Flyer hurries past with AMTK 140, AP P42DC in the lead and a cabbage on the end.

UP Duncan Sub - This manifest freight heads north towards the diamond with UP 1931, an SD 60, in the lead. BNSF Fort Worth Sub - This grain shuttle heads south over the diamonds with BNSF 5099, a D9-44CW in the lead (G) CLOEAP9 29A. BNSF Fort Worth Sub - This light movement (no cars) heads north out of Saginaw yard consisting of BNSF 2236 (GP 38), BNSF 2208 (GP 38), and NS 9245 (D9-40CW).

BNSF Fort Worth Sub - This MOW consist heads north under UP power by UP 6854, an AC4400. This BNSF manifest uses the transfer track to go from the Wichita Falls Sub to the Fort Worth Sub after the train in the foreground clears the block. BNSF Fort Worth Sub - BNSF 917, a D8-40CW, leads this manifest north.

BNSF Wichita Falls Sub - This BNSF coal train heads through Saginaw with BN 9664, an SD 70MAC, in the lead past the station (C) EBMDOL0 49A. BNSF Wichita Falls Sub - This is the DPU for the above train - BN 9631, an SD 70MAC. Moments later, this BNSF shows up on the Fort Worth Sub taking the transfer track to the Wichita Falls Sub lead by BNSF 4012, a C44-9W.

It's a good thing these trains are going towards a double track area! /td> BNSF Fort Worth Sub - this BNSF manifest freight heads north with BNSF 3167, a GP 50, in the lead. Note the excessive height car. It's used to haul wings and the like. A closeup view of these engines.

BNSF Fort Worth Sub - another BNSF manifest heads south with BN 8061, an SD 40-2 in the lead (M) TULTPL1 30A. Another BNSF transfer job from the Fort Worth Sub to the Wichita Falls Sub. This one is short and lead by BNSF 4583, a D9-44CW, in the lead. Note the second engine - BNSF 6119, an SD 9 without dynamic brakes. A B17 made it's appearance landing at Fort Worth Meacham.

Outside of Saginaw past the Trinity connection on the BNSF Wichita Falls Sub - This Molten Sulfer train heads west with BNSF 573, a D8-40BW in the lead (X) GATBNV4 29A. The same train a few miles before Decatur. Waiting for the same train, I set up at Alvord, TX. This train caught me off guard, but I should have excpected it based off the green light it had. This BNSF wooshes by with BNSF 6341, an SD 40-2, in the lead.

After this train clears the block and the brakeman throws the switch, the molten sulfer train gets underway once more.
