Some kind of interesting device for serious snow removal. The west end of the new 8-mile long Cascade Tunnel completed in 1929. It was much colder up on the top of the pass.

It's Scenic alright. Ah, the bubbling of the mountain streams. The east end of the Cascade Tunnel.

An interesting piece of equipment (balast spreader?) sits in Skykomish. The Skykomish station. BNSF 860, a D9-44CW, pulls a mixed freight west - gaining speed.
