Railfanning in Tolono: April 14, 2004
The first trip on a bike.
19 miles roundtrip

This train waits on the main for westbound traffic to clear. NS 9467, a D9-44CW. NS 21T, an intermodal train, heads west past this waiting train. Notice the nice horsehead logo and not so nice unibrow (the white mask). NS 2594, an SD70M. NS 21G, a mixed freight, heads east after traffic ahead moves on pulled by NS 2527, an SD70.

After arriving at the diamond, this SD40-2, CN 6254, heads south. Next is this autorack train headed by an ex-WC, CN 6598, an SD45. This very long mixed freight heads north pulled by CN 2665. It appears to be a D9 series widecab; however, the side says EF-644e - those darn Canadians!

Notice this Indiana Railroad coal hoppers. Woot! This hot 'train' yeads west towards Decatur. The lead engine is NS 9422, a D9-44CW. After beginning to head home, this roadrailer train, NS 267, caught my eye as it left Philo. Headed by NS 2570, a SD70.

The roadrailer is stuck at the diamond waiting for a northbound CN. Therefore, this train is stuck behind the roadrailer fouling the main east of Tolono. Notice the UP autorack train on NS tracks - how strange.
